Hello! I am Neon and I am representing dreambubble, impspace, and the dreams discord server. We are looking to speak with you about the dreams.wikia.com page. We are trying to consolidate all our efforts and get an offical/one place wikia for dreams.
Hello! I appreciate your interest! I have emailed Media Molecule in the past, so they are aware of this community's existence and my hope is to work with them for ongoing content. The primary admin for this wiki is LittleBigEater, who is also the admin at LittleBigPlanet Wiki and Tearaway Wiki here at FANDOM. If you have not yet left a message on their wall, I suggest you do! He may be quite interested in collaborating. I have not spoken to him lately myself so I am not sure what he is up to currently. I will be working more on this community after the Christmas holiday (I'm off for a couple weeks) until probably some time after launch to help out. If you have questions about this wiki or our platform in general, I would be happy to answer what I can.
Hi yeah, any help would be great, with work and life I've found it harder to get online. I'm looking for a few people to make admins to help maintain the page. As for myself regarding dreams I was thinking of waiting for the game to release first as it would be easier to add information on the games features.
As you used discord to contact me if might be better to communicate to me.
I was wondering if it would be possible for you to create a white version of the logo on this wiki. Also if possible tweak the wiki's theme a little. i recently editted the theme trying to base it on the purple and blues found in the recent game trailer.
This wiki has been queit.. mostly down to how info on the game went silent for a year. I'm hoping activity will pick up once the game is released, however it would be great if you could asks around for those willing to edit/add stuff to the wiki.
Hey. I have kept Dreams on my radar and agree there hasn't been much info out on it. I think TGA 2017 was the first real reveal. I changed the logo, removed the bubbles background and changed the headers to a standard one. If you preferred the other headers, I can remake them but I don't have time to do it right now. This was just the easy quick-fix. I updated the videos in the Video section. I don't have time to do anything else today but I might have some time next week to see if there is in content I can add. Chances are, I will have time closer to the release date (when we finally get one). I'll keep an eye out for editors who may be interested. Hope this helps!
I enabled JS for you. We turned it off globally a while back for 'reasons' but can enable per wiki on request. You may find that changes you make may need to go through an approval process, but that generally happens fairly quickly.
Over on the LBP wiki a member discovered an other wiki similar to the LBP wiki apperently created by blocked users from before my time as admin for the LBP wiki. You can find the thred here.
I know there isn't anything that can be done, but I was just wondering there are any rules wikia's/fandoms featuring similar content... I mean I thought the LBP wiki was the main wiki for "LittleBIGPlanet." Is it possible for there to be more than one fandom/wikia for a certain "Fandom"?
It's a fair question. Sorry for the late answer. I am still on my winter break, so I have been avoiding editing or even looking at wiki's while I can. LOL. I'm technically back tomorrow (unless this head cold decides Wednesday might be better).
Our Community Support team generally handles merges, closures and similar requests. You can contact them via Special:Contact. Point out the URL in question and request that the related wiki be closed or merged and that the URL used be redirected to your community. Please include a link to the thread.
While I have access to a wide array of internal tools, my primary job is to create content and help with wiki design. If you don't get an answer from Community Support in a reasonable amount of time however, let me know and I will see what I can do. Several staff members are on extended holiday leave so an answer could reasonably take a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the answer. Its cleared up the question I had.
I think i'll keep my distance from the issue at the moment. I don't have an issue with their being another wiki for LBP, but if their wikia continues with copying the LittleBigPlanet Wiki's pages I'll create a disscussion on their wiki and discuss the issue with them before contacting the wikia support.
I'll be starting a Job next week, so my time on the wikia might be reduced depending on the times i'll be working and my mood, but i'll be helping out from time to time.
I will eventually need an admin here, yes. Dreams Wiki is a community I have been specifically assigned to for 2017. My task is to design and build a community for the game, and engage with users for at least 30 days after launch. Sorry I did not reply to you in November. I meant to when I saw the message, then forgot afterward. With updates and information lacking, I have not had a reason to return to this community. I did want to let you know that I have not forgotten it and look forward to working with you on the community once the game is closer to release (whenever that is).
As for the 'font issue' I took it into consideration and removed the font from the h2/h3 tags. I will probably change out the headers on the main page once I become more active here. Thanks for your input!
Ah ok. I had put in a request to adopt the wiki because I didn't know if you were still active here and it had been a while... I'll update it saying i had a responce from you and cancel the request.
Anyway, as an admin of the LittleBigPlanet Wiki i was thinking of having a link on each of the wikis that link them to each other, either on the main page or/and in the navbar. would you be interested in doing that?
... just that it can be hard to find this wiki via most searchs as "Dreams" brings ups lots of pages that talk about real dreams. a direct link might help with that.
I worked with Nelmamoohead on the Little Big Planet Wiki a couple years ago. Can't say I'm a fan of the current theme (not your fault, I looked - LOL), but glad to see there are still active admins there. I don't see any reason to not link the games together as long as they are Fandom communities. In fact, we encourage it. As for adoption, as long as I see positive contributions and engagement, I would have no problems handing you the reins, once my task nears completion. Possibly even sooner. For now, I am just waiting for more information regarding the game.
Actually it was me who changed it before I changed my user name . I felt it was too plain an didn't represent the colors found in the game and i wanted to bring some life to the wiki, so I had created a discussion on a theme redesign and the style was agreed apon by the members active at the time. as for the background i asked sumo digital via twittter what they thought would make a good background and the suggested they current one (the journy home bg). However i agree there are still parts of it that feel a little off... like on the main page.
I was considering changing the nav bar from green to the purple/pink colour... and i have tried lighter shades of blue for the main bg color but they come over off as too bright
If you have any suggestions that would be great. I might make a disscusion about the LBPwikis theme again later on the wiki...
I like the overall theme, and no offense meant but it was the lime green headers and transparency level of the pages that I reacted to. I looked at some screenshots and I understand the header colors now. Thanks for pointing that out. I thought having the headers and the nav bar two different colors was odd as well, but I see why you did it. The white on the lighter green is harder to see, but it matches the game.
I highly encourage you to lower the transparency level overall. Making your users read text on article pages that use a high transparency and a busy background isn't the best option. If you are really attached to the background image and want it to show through on the main page, then leave it. Users spend less time there. Set the transparency on the main page using CSS rather than the Theme tool. This will overwrite the theme setting and allow the characters in the center to still show through.
As an example of what I am talking about, I edited the main page here on Dreams using CSS. It's currently using an image, a border and a slight amount of transparency (0.8). This design will not show up anywhere else, allowing me to keep the other pages legible. If you aren't familiar with editing CSS and want to try something different, let me know and I'll help.
I've dropped the op level on the main background, making it more solid but leting the image of the planet still show slightly. I think it stand out more clearly now. but let me know if it needs any more tweeking.
P.S. We are working with researchers at Northwestern University to better understand why people start online communities, like wikis, and why they grow. If you are 18 or older, then please take this 10-15 minute survey.
